This section is a compilation of things you can do to improve your computer's performance, make it more reliable or make your life simpler. It focuses on Windows XP-based PC's. Jim Richardson, our computer guru, and others frequently discuss these items at meetings. They are listed here as reminders that supplement those more detailed discussions.

This section began as a work-in-progress in late May 2007. Individual items which have not been fully scrutinized for accuracy will contain a warning to that effect. The list of included items will grow with time and you should check back occassionally for updates.

The links above offer three levels of suggestions:

Ya REALLY Otta... These items are important to your PC's health or protect your investment (monetary and/or time). If you follow all the recommendations and have problems, the webguy will personally replace your entire computer system (1).

Ya Might Wanna... The importance of these items does not rise to the level of OTTA, but are, nonetheless, good practices and improve your computing experience.

Other TIps... Nothing here is really necessary. What you'll find are helpful hints from others based on their experience.
